2025 HOKA Postal Nationals is Off and Running and Ready to Challenge Program Records

Nationwide competition takes place August 20-November 2 as high school teams compete for state and national honors

(EUGENE, OR) August 20, 2025 – After having nearly 1,100 teams compete in 2024, with a number of teams setting state records and earning top ten all-time marks, the 12th season of HOKA Postal Nationals is officially underway in partnership between RunnerSpace and HOKA®

From August 20 through November 2, cross country teams in the United States are set to compete for a national title and state bragging rights. HOKA Postal Nationals empowers high school cross country teams to compete against each other in a timed two-mile race on the track, leveling the playing field during the cross country season where no two courses are alike.

The times of each team’s top five finishers are uploaded to state and national leaderboards, making the comparison of teams available and bragging rights up for grabs. With a focus on elevating every level of competition, varsity, sophomore, and freshmen categories are available for participation.

In 2024, 1,096 teams from 46 states competed for state and national honors. On the boys side, Crater (OR), led by Josiah Tostenson and Tayvon Kitchen, bested runner-up Rocky Mountain (ID) by less than a second, running the fourth fastest five-runner time in program history in 46:51.50 (9:22 avg). Rocky Mountain’s 46:52.40 (9:22 avg) ranks them fifth fastest in Postal Nationals history.

On the girls side, Rocky Mountain (ID) one upped their boys team by finishing first in the second fastest five-runner time in Postal Nationals history, finishing with a mark of 55:12.30 (11:02 avg). The squad finished less than 12 seconds behind the program record of 55:01.80 set by Boise (ID) in 2021. Placing second was Saint Ignatius College Prep (IL), running 56:09.60 (11:14 avg) and ranking them tenth fastest in program history.

All participating coaches who upload their team’s results to the official leaderboard receive a free pair of HOKA shoes at the end of the season.
