Throughout the remainder of the 2024-25 Indoor season, MySportsResults will continue to recognize our top boys' and girls' track and field athletes each week with the help of your votes.

Almost 600 votes were cast to start the new year in polling for the HOKA CT Indoor T&F Athletes of Week 3 where Jenna Luoma of Ellington gained 288 votes and Tyler Deme Sheehan earned 225 votes to lead all nominees listed below. In addition to the recognition each week award recipients will receive a commemorative t-shirt in recognition of their performance that is sent to their school in care of their coach.

Last year Jenna Luoma of Ellington was an all state cross country runner as a freshman who learned the high jump at the beginning of the season. At the indoor Class M championships, she wasn’t expected to score more than a point or two. But after her father unexpectedly passed away earlier that week, her teammates helped her deal with the grief and decided to compete. A small PR on her part and some sub par performances from some of the other girls gave her the state title. Like Burgos in the boys high jump, she is no longer an unknown but last Saturday, she set a new PR of 5-4 which moved her into the state lead in the event.

Last year in early January, Tyler Deme of Sheehan hadn't broken 10:20 for 3200m yet. Fast forward a year, the senior not only set a new PR, he crushed the school record in the 2-mile at The Armory Hispanic Games last Saturday to take 6th in 9:39.15, which is the equivalent of 9:36 for 3200m. On top of this, he also went under the meet record of 9:39.28 held by All New England cross country runner Samuel Zwick-Lavinsky of Staples.

In addition to our award winners, voting results were as follows for all other girls and boys nominees:
