The final cross country meet of their 2023 season is only a day away for Katie Bohlke (Newington) and Lily Lyons (Greenwich Academy) who race at 9:15am PST in the Girls Championship. The Boys Championship starting at 10am PST will include Alex Fisher of (Loomis Chaffe) and Soheib Dissa (Newtown).

The four Connecticut athletes will get a preview this morning of the 5k course in San Diego as they have an opportunity to jog the 2-loop course that winds through Balboa Park. They will also participate in a dress rehearsal of the pre-meet ceremony where each athlete is introduced along with their honorary “coach”. 

Our state athletes are experiencing warmer conditions with temperatures in the mid 60 degrees today as they participate in a full day of activities in addition to the course tour. They will compete on Saturday morning in similar conditions where a 70-degree high is forecasted for race day.

The 2023 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships will be broadcast from San Diego, California on Saturday, December 9 by the RunnerSpace.com. The broadcast and on demand videos will be made available free of charge.
