Colchester — Alex Peck finished first to help lead the Bacon Academy
boys' cross country team to a 26-29 Eastern Connecticut Conference
Medium Division win over Stonington Tuesday.
Peck completed the 3.1-mile course in 17:40 while Sam Smith (third) and
Ben Guarino (fifth) also finished in the top five for the Bobcats (2-0,
2-0). Pat Boyle (second) and Greg Abbott (fourth) made the top five for
Stonington (0-2, 0-2).

• Erik Chester, Jason Cuscak, Andrew Orum and Randy Evans all crossed
the finish line together in 17:37 as Griswold defeated Waterford,
15-39, in the ECC Medium Division. The Wolverines 2-0, 2-0. Nick Pyka
led the Lancers (1-1, 1-1) by finishing seventh in 17:58.

• Erik Schilke was the individual winner in 18:25 and Ledyard runners
swept the top 10 spots in a 15-50 ECC Large Division win over
Killingly. Kyle Stammel finished second in 18:26 for the Colonels (2-0,
2-0) and teammate David Billing was third in 18:28. Killingly is 0-3,
0-2.

• Mike Berkowicz and Dan Guanya finished 1-2 for Woodstock Academy in a
26-29 ECC Large Division win over East Lyme. Olin Paige (third), Ryan
Murdoch (fourth) and Matt Ridley (fifth) were the top runners for the
Vikings (0-2, 0-2). Steve Wakely was sixth and Tom Kaserick seventh to
seal the win for the Centaurs (1-1, 1-1).

• Chris Toner was first overall for Windham, but Montville finished in
the next three positions to win the ECC Medium Division meet, 23-32.
Erik Nelson led the way for the Indians (2-0, 2-0). The Whippets are
0-2, 0-2.

• Andrew Rissler won the ECC Small Division race with a time of 20:42,
leading St. Bernard past Tourtellotte, 15-50. Zach Young took third for
the Saints (2-0, 2-0).

• Griswold's Jennie Birset, Janine Daly, Krystyna Chester, Stephanie
Slonski and Shelby Donahue all finished together in 17:57 as the
Wolverines (2-0, 2-0) defeated Waterford, 15-50, in the ECC Medium
Division. Nina Huang was eighth in 18:13 for the Lancers (0-2, 0-2).

• Ledyard's Katherine Bossardet broke the course record at Owen Bell
Park in Killingly as the Colonels took the top three spots to defeat
Killingly, 19-42, in the ECC Large Division. Bossardet finished the 5K
course in 21:23 while teammates Sarah Fritz (21:50) and Britta
Kunkemueller (23:30) followed for the Colonels (1-1, 1-1). Dana Bein
placed fourth for the Redgals (1-2, 0-2).

• Ashley Bates led four Woodstock runners in the top five as the
Centaurs topped East Lyme, 21-35, in the ECC Large Division. Bates
finished in 21:01. Taylor Rosendale was second overall for the Vikings
(0-2, 0-2). Woodstock is 2-0, 2-0.

• Bacon Academy took five of the top six spots and went on to beat
Stonington 19-39 in the ECC Medium Division. Lauren Dimberg of Bacon
won the 2.7-mile race in 17:20. Emily Puscas, Jess Hooker, Meg Behrent
and Liz Kubas of Bacon (2-0, 2-0) were third through sixth,
respectively. Laura Brustolon of Stonington (0-2, 0-2) finished second.

• Windham's Kate Callahan finished first by more than a minute but
Montville took the next four spots to win the ECC Medium Division meet,
21-39. Caitlin Quinn was the top finisher for the Indians (1-1, 1-1).
The Whippets are 0-2, 0-2.

• Gillian Rissler posted a winning time of 18:41 in St. Bernard's 16-47
win over Tourtellotte in the ECC Small Division. The Riley sisters —
Lauren and Caroline — finished second and third for the Saints (2-0,
2-0). Nora Eldean was fifth for the Tigers (1-1, 1-1).
