Griswold High School's boys' cross-country team remained atop the
Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division Monday with a 15-50
win over Bacon Academy. Griswold runners occupied the first seven
positions, led by winner Reynolds Chapman, who finished in 18
minutes, 44.4 seconds. The Wolverines are 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the
division. Jeff Bennett led Bacon (3-3, 3-1) with an eighth-place
finish.
Girls Results
ECC
St. Bernard picked up a pair of narrow victories over Wheeler
(26-28)
and Waterford (26-30) to sweep tri-meet. Wheeler beat Waterford,
23-32.
Gillian Rissler (16:22 over 2.5 miles) was first and teammate Emily
Bowdy (17:00) third for the Saints (2-2, 1-1 ECC Small). Bess Ritter
finished second for Waterford (0-4) in 16:29 and Leyden Pavlovics
was
fourth for Wheeler (2-2, 1-2) in 17:16.
