Three Naugatuck runners finished in the top 10 to help the
Greyhounds win the Naugatuck Valley League boys’ cross country championship
meet Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Park in Watertown.
The Greyhounds, with 47 points, tied Holy Cross of Waterbury for the league
regular-season championship. As a result, there will be a run-off to determine
the league champion Saturday at 3 p.m. at Montoe Park in Waterbury.
Scott Richnavsky of Torrington won the boys’ meet at 17 minutes, 34 seconds.
Watertown won the girls’ meet with 53 points for its third straight league championship. Lisa Stublic of Crosby of Waterbury was the individual winner with a time of 15:48.
