Boys
Glastonbury 81 Weaver 69
• Chris Croft won the 400 and 3,200 and Kevin Dolliver won the 100
hurdles and triple jump as Griswold, with 94 points, won a
tri-meet versus Woodstock Academy (64) and Putnam (16). Max Antcil
won the shot put for the Wolverines. Ryan Laperle won the 100 and
200 for the Centaurs.
• Erik Thunberg won the high jump and long jump while Erik
Farnsworth won the shot put and discus as Fitch defeated
Montville, 118-37. Jon Volkmann (triple jump), Emery Jackson (pole
vault), Ken Yearwood (800), Riley Nolan (1,600), Matt Eyler
(3,200), Bing Zhang (100 hurdles), Matt Landeck (300 hurdles) and
Maurice McClellan (100) also won events for the Falcons (1-0).
Scott Conn (javelin) and Tony Homsey (200) won events for
Montville.
• Waterford won a tri-meet from Killingly and Tourtellotte,
defeating the Redmen, 88-47, and the Tigers, 94-37. Killingly
defeated Tourtellotte, 75-56. Tim Flanagan won the triple jump and
long jump for the Lancers, while Brian Robinson won the shot put
and Matt Goldberg won the high jump. Scott Harman (400) and Scott
Baris (200) won events for the Redmen.
• Miles Bradley and J.J. Justice each won three events as NFA
swept a tri-meet against Bacon Academy and Plainfield. NFA scored
130, Bacon scored 54.5, and Plainfield scored 1.5. Bradley won the
100 hurdles, triple jump and high jump, while Justice won the 100,
shot put, and javelin. Zack Clark (400), Eric Hirsh (300 hurdles),
Josh Robertson (800), Matt Miclette (3,200), D. Way (long jump),
and Vinnie Heath (pole vault) all won events for the Wildcats.
Girls
Groton — Jenna Christie and Sarah Latham won two individual events
apiece Thursday to lead the Fitch High School girls' track team to
a 118-32 win over Montville. Christie won the 100 and triple jump,
while Latham took first in the javelin and high jump. Alicia
Killingsworth (100 hurdles), Julia Rozier (200), Lauren Riley
(400), Amanda Chapman (800), Betsy Boucher (1,600), Lizzie
Littlewood (3,200), Cania Carter (shot put), Stephanie Johnson
(discus), and Ashley Lowe (long jump) also won individual
events.Jessica Santos (300) and Jennifer Rahusen (pole vault) took
first for the Indians.
• Derin Kozlowski won the 300 hurdles and the high jump as
Woodstock Academy defeated Griswold and Putnam in the tri-meet.
Woodstock finished with 94 points, while Griswold had 61 and
Putnam 28. Leslie Lupien won the triple jump and pole vault, while
Michelle Lake won the 100 and 200 for the Centaurs.
• Killingly won a tri-meet from Waterford (89-50) and Tourtellotte
(100-35), while the Lancers defeated the Tigers, 71-66. Brittany
Otto won the long jump for the Redgals, while Brianna Welch (400)
and Meg Breault (triple jump) also won events. Bess Ritter won the
3,200 for Waterford.
• Sam Kuhse led a Ledyard sweep of the pole vault as the Colonels
beat Stonington (85-64) and New London (114-25). Stonington beat
New London, 80-28. Mary Traglia (triple jump), Stephanie Riding
(100 hurdles) and Jessica Mikna (shot put) also won events for the
Colonels. Laura Brustolon (1,600 and 3,200) and Brittany Solar
(800 and javelin) took first in two events apiece for Stonington,
which also got wins from Kaitlin Gomes (300 hurdles), Lindsey
Gomes (high jump), Morgan Rein (long jump). Sharelle Green took
first in the 100, 200 and 400 for New London, which also got a win
from Amanda Marshall (discus). At
