Boys Outdoor Track and Field   -  Week of 4-30 to 5-5 2001 

ECC Boys 5-1-2001

Sean Berg won three events, including a 13-foot effort in the pole vault, as unbeaten Fitch rolled to a 119.5-30.5 win over Ledyard in the ECC Large Division. Berg also won the 110 hurdles and triple jump for the Falcons (3-0, 2-0) while Pat Berg captured the discus and javelin and Mark Olivier won the 1,600 and 3,200. Nate Baber won the 200 and 300 hurdles for the Colonels (2-2, 0-2).

Eric Griswold, Felix Vincent and Scott Clarkson won two events apiece, leading East Lyme to a 99-47 win over Woodstock Academy in the ECC Large Division. Griswold won the 110 and 300 hurdles, Vincent won the 100 and 200 and Clarkson won the high jump and long jump. Chris Hodson (400), Craig Moore (800), Mike Irr (javelin) and Trevin Maizer (pole vault) also won eventrs for the Vikings. Woodstock's Tom Converse won the shot put and discus.

Dan Long won all three weight events to lead NFA to a 107-29 victory over Killingly in the ECC Large Division. Long captured the shot put in 42-6, the discus in 109-8 and the javelin in 130 feet for the Wildcats (4-0-1, 2-0). The Wildcats also got a big effort from Kenny Jones, who cleared 6-7 in the high jump.

Brian Laguerre won the 200-meter in 24 seconds, the high jump in 5-8 and the triple jump of 38-4 for Griswold in a 137.5-10.5 win over St. Bernard in the ECC Small Division. Noah White won the 800 (2:16.9) and the 1,600 (4:58.9) for the Wolverines (3-0-1). Steve Moon placed second in the 100 meter hurdles and third in the 3,200 for the Saints (0-2), and Nick Nagy placed third in the 200, 400, and the long jump. 

David Auger and Danny Nicolosi won two events apiece as Putnam defeated Tourtellotte, 87-62. Auger won the 100 and triple jump, while Nicolosi won the shot put and discus. Aaron Joyal (800) and Aaron Devivo (pole vault) also won events for the Clippers. Deidre Baublitz won the 200 and the 300 hurdles for the Tigers.

Rory Farrell won the 100 and 300 hurdles and ran on the winning 4x100 team as Bacon Academy swept New London (108-34) and Marianapolis (127-23). Ryan Davis won the 100, 200 and high jump for the Bobcats (5-1-2), while Josh Fournier took the shot put and triple jump and Tom Anadore won the discus and javelin. Marianapolis won the 4x800 and edged New London, 69-60.

Rick Franklin won the high jump (5-9), long jump (18-8) and triple jump (41-9 ½) as Montville downed Waterford, 110-36, in the ECC Medium Division. The Indians took the top three spots in the long jump, both places in the triple jump and all three relays. Montville's Brent Ali led a sweep of the 100 hurdles. Waterford's Jared Freeman won the discus and helped the Lancers sweep the javelin.
