URGENT ALERT - 8th Dave Smith Rockville Relays - Rescheduled to Saturday-April 26, 2008...

MySportsResults.com and NSSF Head Count System for Featured Meets ...
(Apr 10, 2008-7:00am-By Ron Knapp) MySportsResults.com has partnered with the National Scholastic Sports Foundation to use their Head Count Meet Registration system to offer you an easy, fast and secure method to register your school and athletes for all the events at the remaining Featured Meets for the 2008 Outdoor season. After a few months of working with the NSSF Head Count staff to test and enable additional features of the existing system that was used for national meets, the decision was made earlier this week to forge ahead to bring coaches a more convenient meet entry service for the next several outdoor Featured Meets at MySportsResults.com.

Those features include the ability for a coach to maintain their team roster for use over several meets, no more re-entry of the same first and last name athlete data for each meet. Not only does this save a coach time during meet entry but it also decreases the error rate in misspelled athletes names and allows coaches to update athlete data before each meet.

A feature of this roster based function means that a coach can enter their roster and partial meet event entries and then logon at another time and provide additional entries...as long as a coach does everything BEFORE the posted entry deadline. A coach must complete all phases of the event entry process BEFORE the posted entry deadline since the Head Count system automatically shuts off all entries at that posted time. If a coach is a regular procrastinator for meet entries then they need to make sure to provide themselves with sufficient time to the complete the entry process.

Another feature of using the Head Count system is that it will automatically keep track of how many events an athlete is entered in and prevent a coach from accidentally inserting an athlete into more events than the particular meet allows in the meet rules. Also, since a coach has to enter the grade level of each athlete, the system will automatically select which athletes are available for an event that is grade specific, like a Freshman only race for a specific meet.

The other convenient feature of Head Count provides a coach with two forms of event registration confirmation; one at the final Success-Registration Complete step where a coach is provided with a page of all their entries for that session for a coach to print and a second confirmation is emailed to the coaches' account email address for each entry session. A coach must make sure that to finish processing their entries completely so that the Success-Registration Complete page is displayed.

An administrative function of Head Count that can also be used for a meet is the ability to track a coaches' entry fee by event or for a total meet fee. This function may be used in future MySportsResults Featured meets and is used for the Nike Outdoor Nationals meet in June.

A reminder to coaches that for MySportsResults Featured meets for the 2008 Outdoor season, only coaches are allowed to submit entries using the Head Count system. This is different than the procedure for other meets such as the Nike Outdoor Nationals meet in June.
