Meet Information

Sanctions:

Sanctions have been obtained by the National Federation of High Schools for Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine, Virginia, Washington D.C., Kentucky, Delaware and Canada.

Rules, Entry Limits:

  • Coaches MUST accompany their teams and athletes at all times.
  • Athlete may be entered in only three (3) events, including relays. Entry as an alternate counts as one of the athlete's three (3) events.
  • Limit of 2 entries per event per school,
    * 2008 Special Standards in Distance events provide for multiple entries.
    * Limit of 6 entries in the Mens/Womens Hammer Throw
    * Limit of 5 entries in the Women's pole vault.
  • Limit of ONE relay team per event, No B teams.
    * Special Standards in 4x800m provides for multiple team entries. 
  • If you want to have your athlete considered for the seeded heat of the 800m, 1-mile, 2-mile, 3000mSC and 4x800m Relay then you must enter the Meet and Date the performance mark was attained so that the events are seeded fairly.
  • 1600m Sprint Medley Relay is open to all states.
  • Four Throws and Jumps; no marks recorded under minimum standard.
  • Online scratches accepted until 12-noon Wednesday, May 7, 2008.
  • Scratches accepted in person until the start of the meet at 9:30am.
  • After the start of the meet, any athlete who is scratched from an event or who fails to show for an event is scratched from the remainder of the meet including relays.
  • Registration and Entry Forms:

    Online Intent to Enter Deadline is 11:59pm, April 24, 2008
    according to NFHS sanctioning rules.

    Online Athlete Event Entry Deadline:
    11:59pm - Saturday, May 3, 2008

    NOTE:
    No entries will be accepted after these dates. 
    No phone-in or FAX entries/updates will be taken.

    here will be absolutely no athlete additions or changes (except for scratches) to an event on meet day.
     

    Timing Surcharge Fee:

    The Omega Timer from NorthEast Sports Timing Services will be in use for this meet. In order to defray the cost of operations we will have to attach a surcharge of $10.00 to each school entering the meet.

    Event Entry Fees:

    1. Event Entry Fees of $10.00 for each individual event entered and $20.00 for each relay event entered.
      Ex: If you plan to have 4 athletes in 1 event each and they are also in 1-relay then your total event entry fee is: 4x$10 + $20 = $60.

    2. There is a minimum team fee of $35.00 for a team or one individual.

    3. Please make both Entry Fee and Timing Surcharge checks payable to Hartford Public High School

    4. Mail a copy of your Intent to Enter Confirmation page with both checks for Entry Fees and Timing Surcharge Fee to:

    5. Entry Fees are due by Saturday, May 3, 2008. All Entry Fee Balances must be reconciled before the start of the meet in order for a team to compete. Purchase Orders and school checks are tolerated at day of the meet.

    6. Entry fees are charged for entering the meet. You owe for each entry made online. No refunds of event entry or timing surcharge fees for scratches or "no-shows"

    Practice Time:

    The new Hartford Public High School track facility will be available at all times: however, hurdles and other equipment will not be available after 5:00 PM.  Throwing circles are of depressed concrete.
    The Veterans Stadium facility in New Britain will also be available until 5:30pm.

    Doctor and Trainer:

    A trainer or doctor will be available for the convenience of all the athletes entered in the meet.

    Implement Check:

    All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.

    • Watches to winners of all events! (view pic of watch)
    • Medallions to the next top 5 finishers. 

    Also many special awards: 

    • Heisman-type Trophies to the meets top performers and Loving Cups for the meet's MVPs..
