Meet Information

Entry Limits:

• An athlete may only enter two (2) events. Participation in the triple jump will not be counted against an athlete’s event total. No boy/girl may be entered in more than two (2) events, relays counts as event.
• Maximum of six (6) entries per school in each event, except for 300m where only five (5) entries per school are allowed. Schools will be able to replace one of their five athletes in the 300m on the day of the meet, but must substitute the new runner at the same entry time as the runner that they have scratched. This substitution must be declared before the 5:45pm Awards Presentation.
• One (1) Relay team per school per event, except Sprint Medley where teams can enter A and B teams.

Registration:

2. Available after 12/3/2007: Online Event Entry for Boys and Girls Forms - Entry Deadline: 11:59pm, Saturday, December 15, 2007

Meet Fees:

• Fee: $200 dollars will be charged for each program (boys & girls combined). If a school brings less than 20 total athletes, the charge will be $150 dollars. All checks must be made out to “Bacon Academy” and sent to Bacon Academy by December 12th.

• The meet organizer will pay a timer, starter and athletic trainer. We will also pay for judges to cover the field events. Each program should be ready to contribute one coach to help officiate field events if the meet sponsor needs help.

Meet Rules:

• To insure a fair and quality meet, CIAC rules will govern all events.
• Long jump and shot put will be seeded into several flights with the top flight (1st flight) getting 4 attempts. Athletes in later flights will get three jumps or throws.
• Events will be run in an order to maximize the speed of the meet and avoid conflicts between field events and running events.
• Athletes in the 55 dash and 55m dash may not use blocks.
• If an athlete misses an early race because a bus is late, the meet sponsors will attempt to place the athlete in a later race.
• Athletes may not use spikes larger than 3/16th of an inch.

Awards & Results:

• Awards: Although the Jack Long E.C.C. Coaches meet is not scored, we will give out trophies to two girls and two boys with the most outstanding performances in track and field events during the meet.
• Meet results will be posted online at the meet website.
